School Program

Our vision is to connect and engage young people with sculpture and the arts.

Through the schools project we are inspiring a whole new generation of artists - connecting them with leading masters, new materials and the opportunity to create their own sculptures and art works.

Since 2015, Sculpture in the Paddock founder and local sculptor, Al Phemister has been working with local primary and high school students across the Yass Valley. Through his inspirational leadership and the generous support of the NSW National Trust and the Rotary Club of Yass the next generation of artists are emerging.

Sculpture in the Paddock has facilitated some unique and impactful experiences for our participating young artists. Students have visited the Sculpture Garden at the National Art Gallery in Canberra accompanied by nationally acclaimed sculptors. They have taken part in school workshops and been tutored and advised on their own sculptural works.

The schools program ultimately assists students in exhibiting their art works for sale through an indoor exhibition held concurrently with Sculpture in the Paddock. In 2017 this exhibition also toured the ACT.

This year, students work will be showcased in a new setting of the old shearer's quarters located at Shaw Vineyard Estate.

Please come and support our emerging young artists.
